Curtiss-Wright Chairman and CEO Martin R. Benante Honored By USO

ROSELAND, N.J., Dec. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW) Chairman and CEO Martin R. Benante was honored last night by the USO of Metropolitan New York at its annual Armed Forces Gala and Gold Medal Dinner for support of the organization's mission to provide programs and services to military personnel and their families.

The event, which was held on the 64th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, paid tribute to America's military and those in the corporate world who, through their professional and philanthropic efforts, have provided support to members of the U.S. armed services and their families.

Mr. Benante is a career employee of Curtiss-Wright, having served in various executive and operating positions since joining the Company in 1978. Prior to his election to Chairman and CEO, Mr. Benante was responsible for Curtiss-Wright's participation on numerous military programs. In the aerospace division, Mr. Benante was responsible for the management and production of components for the H-60 Blackhawk Helicopter, F-14 Tomcat Fighter Jet, F/A-18 Hornet Fighter Jet, and F-16 Fighting Falcon Fighter Jet.

The largest of these programs, the F-16, was awarded under Mr. Benante's leadership and today Curtiss-Wright continues to support the entire fleet of 4,300 F-16s globally. In the naval division, Mr. Benante strategically positioned Curtiss-Wright to become a leading supplier of critical service valves, pumps, generators, and instrumentation and control systems utilized on every nuclear powered submarine and aircraft carrier commissioned by the U.S. Navy.
