January 02, 2003

LYNDHURST, N.J., Jan. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW, CW.B), through VISTA Controls, a division of its Motion Control business segment, has been awarded a contract in excess of $10 million by the US Army. The contract is for various spare parts in support of the U.S. Army's Bradley Fighting Vehicle program.

The Bradley, the Army's premier light infantry vehicle, is a sophisticated weapons platform that provides maximum firepower for the troops it carries. It is fully armored, fully tracked and capable of defeating any other vehicle on the battlefield. Its offensive weapons include the 25mm "bushmaster" chain gun, a 7.62mm machine gun and TOW anti-tank missile system.

The VISTA Controls contract calls for delivery of various quantities of electronic subsystems: including Systems Control Boxes, Commander's Sight Control Panel and Gunner's Sight Control Panel. These systems are part of the fire control and command control sub-systems of the vehicle. Also included are boxes used for power control and distribution on the turret and hull of the Bradley.

Martin Benante, Chairman and CEO of Curtiss-Wright stated, "We are excited and extremely proud to continue to support our armed services in this critical program. The Bradley Fighting Vehicle has been, and will continue to be, a cornerstone of our military's ground vehicle fighting force. Sustaining its full operational capabilities is a responsibility we do not take lightly."

All of the subsystems will be manufactured at VISTA Controls' Littleton, MA facility that specializes in the design and manufacture, or remanufacture, of electronic components and systems that require improved performance or technology upgrades. Delivery will start in 2003 and will be completed in 2004.
