To Provide Turret Drive Stabilization System for PIZARRO Infantry Fighting Vehicle

ROSELAND, N.J., Dec 9, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW; CW.B) has received a follow on order from General Dynamics Santa Babara Sistemas (GDSBS) of Madrid, Spain, a business unit of General Dynamics Combat Systems Group, to provide Turret Drive Stabilization Systems (TDSS) for the PIZARRO Armored Infantry Fighting Vehicle (AIFV) used by the Spanish Army. The contract valued at $16 million (USD) (CHF 18.9) was awarded to Curtiss-Wright Controls, the Motion Control Segment of Curtiss-Wright Corporation.

Curtiss-Wright's Turret Drive Stabilization System revolves the turret, raises and lowers the gun barrel, and stabilizes the gun to keep its sight steady on a target while the vehicle crosses rough terrain. Curtiss-Wright's Motion Control facility in Neuhausen, Switzerland developed the technology and will manage production beginning in 2005 with deliveries through 2012.
