December 22, 2004

Battery Charger/Power Supply for VT Miltope's Army MSD-V2 Program

ROSELAND, N.J., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW; CW.B) has been selected by VT Miltope, a Vision Technologies Systems company, to provide the battery charger/power supply for the Maintenance Support Device-V2 (MSD-V2). This indefinite quantity contract has a potential value up to $12 million over a 5-year period and is a follow on contract from strong performance on the existing MSD program.

The battery charger/power supply, a separate component provided by Curtiss-Wright, supplies electric power to the MSD-V2 while charging a battery simultaneously for remote operations. The MSD-V2 is essentially a ruggedized laptop computer used to test and diagnose the U.S. Army's complex communication equipment and other electronic commodity equipment, such as missiles, aircraft and ground vehicles, to identify failed line replaceable units. The MSD-V2 system will also be used to host Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals, and/or specific application software, and to upload/download mission data or software.

Curtiss-Wright, through its Motion Control segment, is a leading supplier of power conversion and power supply products. The company will supply this commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) battery charger/power supply from its Integrated Sensing operations in Irwindale, California.

Martin R. Benante, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Curtiss-Wright, commented, "This agreement demonstrates our superior product performance in high technology systems and further enhances our relationship with VT Miltope. We look forward to providing these state-of-the-art technologies to our customers and continuing the Curtiss-Wright heritage of innovation on mission- critical components."
