Curtiss-Wright Wins U.S. Army Contract

For the Army's Black Hawk Helicopter Program

PARIS, June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Curtiss-Wright Corporation (NYSE: CW) has received a contract from the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command for the delivery of Yaw Trim Servo Actuators used on the Black Hawk Helicopter. The contract, valued at approximately $16 million runs through May 2010, with hardware deliveries starting June 2006.

The Yaw trim actuator is coupled to the helicopter control linkages to provide positive pilot control centering to trim position. These units will support the Black Hawk fleet as they continue their varied combat missions throughout the world. Curtiss-Wright will supply the actuators, through its Motion Control segment, Curtiss-Wright Controls Inc., which is headquartered in Charlotte, N.C. The manufacturing of components for the Yaw actuators will be performed at the Curtiss-Wright Controls facility in Shelby, N.C., and the final assembly and test will be performed in Gastonia, N.C.
